A lighthouse for NBG's first expert meeting

07.07.2005 - To give a taste of Europe, the German Federal States have organised since 1995 the " European Week" in Germany. The objective is to create interest and support for Europe among German citizens. In Baden-Württemberg the lighthouse is a symbol that links European events and represents an award for outstanding actions.

On 6 July 2005 the NBG international expert meeting "MBO/MBI – business succession outside the family" was awarded a lighthouse by the Ministry of State Baden-Württemberg.

For the Next Business Generation project the award is a double symbol:

On the one hand the lighthouse characterises the outstanding and the light that gives orientation. Also, a lighthouse is the symbol for measures which serve as exceptional examples. Aim of the NBG project is thus to identify lighthouses in the support of business successions.

On the other hand the lighthouse award is designed as a baton. A baton which is given from one business generation to the next is also symbol for business succession. This idea will be taken up in the NBG project; the lighthouse will offset from Baden-Württemberg on a journey to the other NBG partner regions and be a symbol of European networking.
