Next Business Generation

Project

The securing of succession in a business is a challenge both for the companies themselves and for economic policies in all of Europe. The project ”Next Business Generation“ aims to optimise support and develop new measures. Specialised events and the Internet platform www.next-business-generation.net offer information and experience from six similarly affected regions in Europe.

Target group

Next Business Generation provides information for decision-makers, experts and practitioners on the transfer of succession in businesses. The focus is on the exchange of experiences between supporting institutions. The project addresses itself to persons working in economic and business development, representatives from business chambers, organisations and trade associations, regional initiatives and experts from consulting services, finance, administration, education and research.

Cycle of events

As part of “Next Business Generation“ international expert meetings, conferences and study tours will be held in the six participating regions up to the end of 2007. The goal of the cycle of events: to learn from one another, to get to know one another and cement contacts at a European level. The events will treat subjects including advisory services, financing, mediation and public support. The calendar of events is available here.

Benchmarking

In a benchmarking procedure the six partner regions will determine reliable and effective processes to facilitate business succession in order to improve existing methods and develop new ones. In addition, data on supporting measures on offer will be collected in various workshops and the key success factors will be determined. Reliable and proven processes will be described in case studies which will extend the supportive measures available in the participating regions, but also serve as a recommended course of action for other regions within Europe.
